As part of its ongoing efforts to entice developers to build apps for Windows 8, Microsoft has announced a hackathon, which it is calling “Wowzapp 2012.” The worldwide event will take place in more than 60 different cities November 9-11. All developers are welcome to attend, but students will be receiving special attention.
Those who attend the hackathon will receive free versions of Visual Studio 2012 Express and a registration code for submitting apps to the Windows Store. They will also have access to Microsoft app experts, developers and trainers for assistance with the app development process. Interested participants can register through Microsoft’s Wowzapp Website.
