After just 10 months with the company, Matt Asay has officially resigned as Canonical’s chief operating officer.
“Two weeks ago I made the extremely difficult decision to leave Canonical to join early-stage HTML5 startup Strobe, one focused on building the open web through killer mobile apps,” Asay said on his blog today.
This was a difficult decision, but Asay said he misses “being in the trenches.” While being a COO is a “good experience, it’s not really the one that I want.”
Asay will be running the sales and business development for Strobe. Strobe builds HTML5 Web-based applications using open source SproutCore.
