Michael “Monty” Widenius announced on Friday a release candidate for MariaDB 5.2.2.
“I had hoped to release this in July at Oscon,” Widenius said, but the QA person found some problems with Aria discovery and virtual columns, so he held off on releasing it until this month.
This version of MariaDB is based on MySQL 5.1.50 and it includes virtual columns, extended user statistics, segmented MyISAM key cache, pluggable authentication and more.
