The first Pwn2Own event of 2018 will take place March 14-16 in Vancouver, Canada, and it will have more targets and more prize money at stake than ever before. Sponsored by Trend Micro’s Zero Day Initiative (ZDI), the event will have a total prize pool of $2 million. Developers and security researchers can earn a portion of that money by finding vulnerabilities in many different targets, including the following:
- The Apache Web server running on an Ubuntu 17.10 Linux distribution
- The Nginx Web server
- Oracle’s VirtualBox
- Microsoft’s Hyper-V client
- VMware Workstation
- Windows Defend Application Guard for Edge
- Windows SMB (Server Message Block) protocol
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Apple Safari
- Mozilla Firefox
- The macOS operating system
