Private equity firm KKR has announced that it will purchase BMC Software from its current owners, which include Bain Capital, Golden Gate Capital and others. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Five years ago, BMC went private in a deal worth $6.9 billion.
BMC offers many different kinds of software used by enterprise application development teams, including automation, DevOps, AI, machine learning and cloud computing tools. It also sells mainframe management, IT service management, security and orchestration software.
