The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicks off this week in Las Vegas, and this year one of the big themes is the Internet of Things (IoT). Devices on display include smart ceiling fans, automated door locks, connected light switches and LED bulbs, smart cars and smart sports apparel.
“This is the digital lifestyle not just coming into concept but into practical execution,” said John Curran from consulting firm Accenture. “The Internet of Things is touching almost every aspect of your life, and it’s bringing in a host of new companies and new partnerships.”
If the devices take off, developers could see new demand for IoT-related apps.
