Open source lobbyists and experts in India are criticizing the government’s proposed plan to adopt open technology standards and software.
According to a report from Economic Times reporter Harsimran Singh, recent draft recommendations favor large corporations such as Microsoft over open technology.
The Economic Times acquired a leaked copy of the most recent proposal from an anonymous source.
If implemented, Singh reported that the Chairman of the Free Software Foundation of India Dr G Nagarajan said the government’s plan would not favor open standards.
