In an interview with French newspaper Le Monde, IBM CEO Virginia Rometty announced that her company will be hiring 1,800 new workers in France over the next couple of years. More specifically, IBM is looking for researchers and developers to be involved in projects related to artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT).

IBM has 380,000 employees worldwide, but over the last six years it has been reducing staff in France. That makes the plan to add employees noteworthy.

Rometty was in Paris to take part in the Tech for Good Summit organized by French President Emmanuel Macron.
