IBM is changing the branding for its cloud computing services — again. In the past, IBM has used a mishmash of different names for its cloud services, including SoftLayer, Bluemix and IBM Cloud. About a year ago, it did away with the SoftLayer name, and now it is doing the same with Bluemix. “We are merging the Bluemix brand with IBM Cloud brand since they’ve grown to be synonymous,” the company announced.

In the press release, IBM also noted, “IBM saw double-digit growth in our strategic imperatives and the cloud business delivered more than $15.8 billion in revenue over the last 12 months, and the as-a-service annual exit run rate grew 25 percent in the third quarter.”
