On Thursday, GTK+ 3.0.0, a multi-platform toolkit for creating graphical user interfaces, was released.
There are a lot of changes in this new version of the open source GTK+.
Cairo drawing is now used throughout. “We’ve made a clean break and exclusively rely on cairo for all our drawing needs now,” Matthias Clasen said in the announcement.
Modern input device handling has been implemented.
“The input device handling in GDK has long been a sadly neglected area,” Clasen said. “This has changed; with 3.0, GTK+ steps into the modern world of XI2 with full support for multiple pointers, keyboards and other gizmos.”
