Google acquired Freebase Gridworks software when it purchased Metaweb Technologies back in July.

This week, Google has announced the release of Refine 2.0 that builds on Metaweb’s open source technology to clean up unwieldy data sets, reported The Register’s Kelly Fiveash.

According to Google, “Version 2.0 introduces a new extensions architecture, a reconciliation framework for linking records to other databases (like Freebase), and a ton of new transformation commands and expressions.”
