Google Releases More Info About Glass API

At the SxSW conference, Google Project Glass developer evangelist Timothy Jordan provided a little bit more information about the project for developers. Specifically, he discussed the Mirror API, which will connect the device with third-party apps and services. He confirmed that the Mirror API would rely on RESTful data transport, and he revealed that the device’s interface is based on a timeline. Developers will be able to add event cards to a user’s timeline with an HTTP Post command.

Jordan also showed off a few apps already created for Glass, including Gmail, Evernote, Path and Skitch. He said that developers will need to create Glass apps from scratch rather than porting smartphone or tablet apps.
