Google Releases Android Studio 1.3

Google has released version 1.3 of Android Studio, the official IDE for Android development. Key improvements in the update include a new memory profiler, better testing capabilities, code annotation support and a preview of a C++ editor and debugger. The new testing tools include an Android Memory Viewer, an allocation tracker and APK tests in modules.

A blog post announcing the release notes, “An important thing to remember is that an update to Android Studio does not require you to change your Android app projects. With updating, you get the latest features but still have control of which build tools and app dependency versions you want to use for your Android app.”
