Starting this week, Google is removing all Google+ features from the Google Play app store. Google+ users will no longer be able to “+1” apps in the store, and Google Play users will no longer need a Google+ account to leave reviews for apps and media. In addition, Google Play will no longer have the “People” section that displayed apps and ratings from people users follow on Google+.
For mobile development firms, the change could be good news because it should encourage more people to write reviews for apps and games.
Google+ has been declining for quite a while. Some observers say that this latest move may indicate that Google is radically scaling back its ambitions for its social media platform.
