The Google Play app store has added a new “Go live” button, which controls when users can get access to Android app updates. “Like standard publishing, processing can take a few hours,” explained Google. “All updates need to be processed before they can go live. After processing, a Go live button will be available. After you click Go live, the update will be available on Google Play within minutes.” The change brings Android more in line with iOS, which already offered the option of manually pushing out updates.

However, the Go live button only works for updates, not for brand new apps.
