Google has a new GitHub project for an open source operating system called Fuchsia. Interestingly, the code doesn’t appear to be based on Android or Linux.
Google hasn’t made any announcements about the OS yet, other than Google employee Brian Swetland saying, “The decision was made to build it open source, so might as well start there from the beginning.” Observers have been speculating that the new OS may be intended for the Internet of Things (IoT) or augmented reality (AR) applications.
