Google Experiments with Dart-Based Android Apps

Google has launched a new open source project called Sky that brings the Dart language to Android. Most non-game Android apps are written in Java, but developers at Google are demonstrating apps written with Google’s Dart language.

The project aims to enable fast, responsive apps that render at 120FPS, which is practically unheard-of today. Sky apps are served over HTTP, making them more like Web apps than native mobile apps.

The project is still under heavy development, but some in the mobile development industry say the concept is interesting.
