In a recent blog post, the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) announced that it was redesigning its GitHub community in an attempt to make it easier to navigate. The company organization a GitHub site a year ago, and since then, it has grown to include 123 different repositories. “Despite some clever naming schemes, it was becoming difficult to find exactly the code that you wanted amongst all of our repositories,” wrote Julia Ferraioli, a Google developer advocate. “Idly browsing through over 100 options wasn’t productive.”
To solve that problem, GCP has set up a new landing page at googlecloudplatform.github.io. The webpage features a simple box-based design with some advanced filters and search capabilities that aim to make it easier for developers to find what they’re looking for.
