In a new blog post, Google says that its Google Play App Security Improvement (ASI) program has helped secure more than 250,000 Android apps. More than 90,000 developers have taken part in the program, which helps to identify and remediate security problems in apps. It looks for 26 common security bugs.
Google has also set up a new page detailing the vulnerabilities that can be identified through the program and offering tips for avoiding them. “Developers can use this page as a resource to learn about new issues and keep track of all past issues,” wrote Android security program manager Rahul Mishra.
