Eclipse Labs is a Google and Eclipse IDE collaboration.

Google Project Manager Ali Pasha described the project as a “place where anyone can start and maintain their open source projects based on the Eclipse platform with just a few clicks.”

The goal of Eclipse Labs is to improve the visibility of unofficial add-on projects.

“We hope,” Pasha said, “that this will help Eclipse users find those projects quickly and that it will help popular projects get on the path to becoming Eclipse Foundation projects.”

Two projects that have already been migrated to Eclipse Labs are Wordspace Mechanic and Project Hosting Connector for Mylyn.

Eclipse Labs is hosted by the Google Hosting Project. More information about it can be found here.
