GitLab has released its Web IDE under an open source license and has also included it in GitLab 10.7. Web IDE allows developers to make changes to code and commit them to the source code repository from within their browser.
“At GitLab, we want everyone to be able to contribute, whether you are working on your first commit and getting familiar with git, or an experienced developer reviewing a stack of changes,” explained Joshua Lambert, senior product manager of monitoring and distribution at GitLab. “Setting up a local development environment, or needing to stash changes and switch branches locally, can add friction to the development process.”
GitLab 10.7 also features Deploy Tokens and support for Go and C/C++ in Static Application Security Testing.
