Ford will soon hold the mobile development industry’s first app developer conference hosted by a car company. It is scheduled for Sept. 8, which is also the first day of the CTIA’s Super Mobility Week in Las Vegas.
The event will feature a 12-hour hackathon, training on Ford’s AppLink technology and a presentation by Peter Marx, the chief innovation technology officer of Los Angeles. CTIA CEO and President Meredith Attwell Baker said that automakers and app developers could work together to create “a better and more technologically advanced driver experience, which ultimately means safer roads, reduced traffic and improved fuel efficiency.”
