More Europeans are choosing open source Firefox over Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to browse the Web.
According to StatCounter, in December 2010, 38.11 percent of Web pages were viewed with Firefox while 37.52 percent with Internet Explorer by Europeans.
“This is the first time that IE has been dethroned from the number one spot in a major territory,” StatCounter CEO Aodhan Cullen said. “This appears to be happening because Google’s Chrome is stealing share from Internet Explorer while Firefox is mainly maintaining its existing share.”
