Facebook has added two new features to App Insights, its tool that allows mobile development firms to monitor how people are using apps. First, developers can now categorize people with “label cohorts” in order to do A/B testing. For example, they could assign everyone who made a particular in-app purchase to be part of a cohort and then track their interactions with the app compared to other types of users.
Second, Facebook has added App Event retention charts, which track what people do after downloading an app.
App Insights works with desktop apps that are accessible through Facebook as well as general mobile apps. To access it, developers need to use the Facebook SDK.
