Facebook Announces New Mobile Development Features

During its Mobile DevCon event in New York, Facebook announced two key new mobile development products. First, it released Open Graph for mobile, which aims to make it easy to share app and game data through Facebook. Second, it unveiled version 3.5 of its iOS SDK.

Facebook also revealed a couple key stats about Open Graph. It claims 81 percent of the 100 highest-grossing iOS apps and 70 percent of the 100 highest-grossing Android apps are integrated with Facebook. The numbers are even higher—82 percent for iOS and 75 percent for Android—when you consider the top-grossing apps in the U.S. alone.”

Facebook’s Douglas Purdy blogged that these changes “further our transition to a mobile-first platform.”
