Donald Rumsfeld, the 83-year-old former secretary of defense, has joined the mobile development industry. Rumsfeld has released an iOS app called Churchill Solitaire. It is based on a variation of solitaire that is played with two decks instead of one—a game that Winston Churchill played when he was suffering from insomnia during World War II.
Rumsfeld didn’t write any code himself, but he did provide direction and do a lot of testing on the game. Churchill Solitaire is free, but hints and undos cost money. The former defense secretary encourages people to buy hints, but not the undos. “There are damn few undos in life,” Rumsfeld said. “But there are hints.”
Rumsfeld plans to donate the earnings from the app to charity.
