Developers Demand Changes to iCloud

A growing chorus of developers is demanding that Apple improve its iCloud APIs in time for the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. For example, Black Pixel CEO Daniel Pasco complained, “we spent a considerable amount of time on this effort, but iCloud and Core Data syncing had issues that we simply could not resolve.” And many other developers are less kind in their descriptions of the problems with iCloud.

Meanwhile, Google’s consumer cloud computing service, Google Drive, is adding features to encourage developers to write apps that use it. The Verge reported, “Google is announcing some new additions to its Drive SDK that borrow a page out of the iCloud playbook, helping developers use Drive as a dependable place to store application data by locking the user out.”
