According to online job board Dice.com, recruiting for IT jobs is up only 1 percent compared to last year. However, some areas within IT are experiencing much higher demand. For examples, postings for development jobs have increased 7 percent over last year. And Dice.com says that Python and Ruby on Rails programming jobs reached an all-time high earlier this year; demand for both skills increased 28 percent since last year. Other in-demand development skills include the following:
- Quality assurance (up 5 percent)
- SOAP (up 12 percent)
- Android (up 33 percent)
- JBoss (up 10 percent)
- Windows 7 (up 33 percent)
