CodeFights Startup Turns Coding into a Social Game

TechCrunch reports that a startup called CodeFights has raised $2.4 million in seed funding. CodeFights offers a website where developers can battle the clock or each other in programming challenges. According to co-founder Tigran Sloyan, 70,000 developers have already used the site, and that number is growing by 30 to 40 percent each month.

“Instead of challenging stupid skills like rearranging candy or shooting birds, you’re actually challenging someone’s programming and math skills,” says Sloyan. “People feel like they’re not wasting time when playing it – they’re coming out of it by having learned something new.”

CodeFights supports Code Battles in JavaScript, Java, C++ and Python.
