Chrome Usage Tops Internet Explorer for the First Time

Web developers take note: there are now more people who use the Chrome browser than who use Internet Explorer.

According to the Adobe Digital Index (ADI), Chrome has a 31.8 share of the browser market across both desktop and mobile platforms. Internet Explorer came in second with 30.9 percent, followed by Safari (25 percent). Firefox had just 8.7 percent of the market, a huge drop from the 20 percent of the market it enjoyed two years ago.

“Marketers need to be aware of browser usage as they build digital properties,” said Adobe Technology analyst Tyler White. “Understanding the types of devices people are using is crucial to customer experience.”
