China-based mobile development firms can now upload apps to Google Play. However, while Android users in 130 different countries will be able to download those apps, Android device owners in China will not. That’s because Google Play still isn’t available to end users in the country.
Rumors suggest that Google will soon be opening a Chinese version of Google Play for end users, but the company has not yet confirmed those plans. For now, Android users in China must use third-party app stores like Qihoo 360.
