Canonical has announced a new development contest it’s calling the “Ubuntu App Showdown.” Interested developers are encouraged to create apps for the Ubuntu Linux distribution using Canonical’s Quickly development tool, which uses Python and GTK. The top three winners will receive new Nokia N9 smartphones. First place will also be awarded a System76 Gazelle Professional laptop, and second place will get a System76 Lemur Ultra laptop.
Entries must be submitted between June 18 and July 9.
