It’s become common in recent years for developer conferences hosted by major tech firms to sell out quickly, and this year’s Microsoft Build conference was no exception. The event, which will take place April 2-4, sold out on Wednesday, the same day tickets went on sale for $2,095 each.
TechCrunch’s Alex Wilhelm cautions, “Don’t read too much into the sell out. Microsoft sold out Build last year as well, and the company has still struggled to attract developer attention at the pace that it wants, and needs.”
At the conference, Microsoft is expected to discuss its Windows Azure cloud, Xbox and the future of Windows. It may also launch the next version of Windows Phone.
