BitNami announced today the release of free templates for popular open source applications to leverage Amazon’s new CloudFormation service.
CloudFormation is supposed to simplify the process of deploying applications using Amazon Web Services. Developers can describe a “stack” of cloud resources and bring them up and down as a single unit.
BitNami is offering free PHP and Ruby-on-Rails based BitNami applications as CloudFormation templates.
“It enables developers to use BitNami applications as building blocks to construct their application environment and configure it at launch time,” BitRock CTO Danial Lopez Ridruejo said. BitRock makes BitNami.
