The Beijing agency in charge of intellectual property regulation has ruled that the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are too similar to the design of a Chinese phone, the Shenzhen Baili 100C smartphone. As a result, it has ordered retailers to stop selling those iPhone models within the city.

It wasn’t immediately clear what impact this decision would have on Apple or the mobile development industry. Falling iPhone sales in China have been a problem for Apple recently, but it hasn’t yet commented on this latest setback.

According to Chinese law, Apple has the right to appeal the ruling.
