At its re:Invent conference this week, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has rolled out a number of new cloud computing services and updated features likely to be of interest to developers. Highlights included the following:
- Amazon Firecracker — lightweight micro-virtual machines that can launch in non-virtual environments
- Java support in Amazon Kinesis Data Analytics
- Transactions in Amazon DynamoDB
- Private Marketplace — allows enterprises to create pre-approved custom catalogs of third-party AWS services
- Amazon SageMaker Neo — train machine learning models once and run anywhere
- Amazon Forecast — time series forecasting
- AWS DeepRacer — scale model racecar that teaches reinforcement learning
- Amazon Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB) and AWS Managed Blockchain — blockchain services
