Autodesk, which is best known for its 3D design software, has announced that it is launching a cloud development platform called Forge. The platform as a service includes cloud computing services, APIs and an SDK that allow developers to add 3D design and visualization capabilities to their apps.
The company also announced that it is setting up a $100 million fund that will be invested in developers using the platform. “We are putting the money out there because we want to accelerate adoption,” said Scott Reese, VP of cloud platforms at Autodesk.
