Apple has announced that its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) will take place June 13-17 this year. As usual, it will be held in San Francisco, but the venue is moving to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Apple is expected to make several announcements of interest to the mobile development industry at the event, including revealing the next version of iOS. In an unusual move, Apple first allowed its Siri virtual assistant to reveal the date of the event in response to user questions, but it also sent out more traditional announcements.
At the same time, Apple launched a revamped developer portal that includes a mini-site on “Making Great Apps for the App Store.” It includes some helpful case studies, interviews, planning tools, app guidelines and information about submitting apps to the store.
