At a press event on Tuesday, Apple launched a wearable device, putting an end to years of rumors and speculation. Called Apple Watch, the device comes in several different designs and includes fitness-tracking sensors.
To aid in developing apps for Apple Watch, Apple will release a WatchKit SDK. The tool will allow mobile development firms to create custom notifications and home screen apps for the device.
Apple showed off some already-created Apple Watch apps, including ones from Fracebook, BMW, Major League Baseball, Nike, Pinterest and American Airlines.
