Apple has deleted the Infowars app from the App Store. The app carried content from Alex Jones, a right-wing conspiracy theorist who recently received a lifetime ban from Twitter, as well as bans from Facebook, YouTube and other platforms. Apple said it removed the app because it violated company policies prohibiting content that is “offensive, insensitive, upsetting, intended to disgust or in exceptionally poor taste.” The company had previously removed Jones’ podcasts from its service.
Apple device users who had already downloaded the Infowars app prior to its deletion will still be able to access the app. And the Infowars app is still available for Android devices through Google Play.
