Yesterday, Apple released iOS 8.0.1, an operating system update that included a patched for the HealthKit bug that delayed the launch of many health and fitness apps. Unfortunately, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners who installed the update soon found that Touch ID and their cell service were no longer working.
Apple has pulled the update and issued instructions for getting broken phones working again. It says it is working on a fix that will correct the problems. In the meantime, third-party mobile development firms still can’t release their HealthKit-based apps.
In related news, some iPhone 9 and iPhone 6 Plus owners are complaining that the devices bend when placed in tight jeans pockets.
