Apple has notified mobile development pros that it has disabled app slicing, one of the new features in iOS 9. App Slicing allows users to download only the app files necessary for their devices; if a user has an older phone with a smaller screen, for example, app slicing would prevent the phone from downloading the images for a larger screen size, which means that the app takes up less storage space on the device.

The company says the feature is unavailable due to a bug in its iCloud cloud computing service. It plans to bring app slicing back in a future update to the operating system after it fixes the iCloud problem.
