Beginning May 5, Apple’s App Store began having problems with its search function. Numerous users reported that the store was returning unusual responses to queries, and Apple noted on its system status page that the App Store was “not working as expected for all users.” On Twitter, users claimed that apps like “Instagram, Tweetbot, Candy Crush, etc.” were impossible to find. And some reports indicated that the problem may also have affected the Mac App Store and iTunes.
On Friday, Apple said that it had fixed the problem. There’s no indication yet how much revenue the mobile development industry may have lost due to the temporary glitch.
