The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has accepted the fact that the developer community has a real need for a vendor-neutral standard for cloud computing. So, Apache will prioritize the development of its Libcloud unified cloud interface as its highest priority. The Apache Libcloud will provide developers with a single unified interface for over 20 cloud services, with such industry titans as Amazon EC2, Rackspace Cloud, IBM Cloud, Xen-based Linode service and others.
