Wired is reporting that Anthony Levandowski, a former Google autonomous vehicle engineer who is at the heart of the Waymo v Google lawsuit, has founded a religious organization called Way of the Future. Its stated purpose is to “develop and promote the realization of a Godhead based on Artificial Intelligence.” Legal documents filed by the group also state that it wants “through understanding and worship of the Godhead, [to] contribute to the betterment of society.”
Waymo, the self-driving car company spun off by Google parent company Alphabet, has accused Levandowski of trying to steal its trade secrets for Uber. Levandowski could face criminal charges as a result of the civil lawsuit.
