Alphabet Revenue Climbs 26% to Beat Estimates

Google’s parent company, Alphabet, has announced that it generated $32.66 billion in revenue during the second quarter, a 26 percent year-over-year increase that beat analyst expectations. Its “other revenue” category, which includes its cloud computing business, climbed 37 percent to reach $4.43 billion. The company’s shares rose after the news broke, and the firm is now inching closer to being worth $1 trillion.

In other Google news, the company also announced new programs for software as a service (SaaS) companies that use its cloud computing services. It has a Marketing Development Fund that will give financial incentives to companies that use its cloud services, as well as a program that will offer technical help to keep apps running optimally on the Google Cloud Platform.
