China-based Alibaba has announced that it is opening four new data centers to support its cloud computing services. The facility in Dubai is already online, and those in Australia, Japan and Germany are scheduled to open soon. Alibaba Cloud also has two data centers already operating in the U.S.

Although it is far behind market leaders like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and IBM, Alibaba Cloud is currently Alibaba’s fastest-growing business unit. It claims to power more than a third of all Chinese websites. In its most recent quarter, it reported revenue of $224 million. By comparison, AWS had $3.23 billion in revenue in its most recent quarter.
