Two prominent makers of DevOps and agile software development tools — CollabNet and Version One — have merged. The new company will keep the CollabNet name but will have its headquarters at VersionOne’s location in Atlanta. CollabNet CEO Flint Brenton will be CEO of the new company, while VersionOne CEO Robert Holler will become chief strategy officer. The companies did not disclose details about the transaction.
The new firm says it offers the industry’s “most complete” agile software development platform. It added, “The combined software and services portfolio will enable the newly combined company to offer market-leading solutions that reduce the cost of planning, developing and delivering software.”
