Although it plans to increase its support for HTML5 development, Adobe has announced that it will continue to update its Flash technology for at least five to ten more years. While it is scaling back its Flash plans and doing away with Firefox Flash support on the Linux OS, the company will release two updates for its Flash player this year.
Adobe said that it sees a future for Flash in two key areas: games and premium video services. It added that future releases will focus on improving the technology’s performance and making content built with Flash feel more application-like.
