Business software vendor Sage has published the results of a new survey highlighting consumer attitudes towards artificial intelligence (AI). Among those surveyed, 43 percent of Americans said they have “no idea what artificial intelligence is all about.” That didn’t stop them from liking the technology, however, as 80 percent believed AI could have a positive impact on their lives. Interestingly, tech enthusiasts had a little more trepidation as 18.1 percent of them feared AI would bring “the subjugation of humanity.”
Other key findings included the following:
- 41 percent of respondents believe AI will eliminate repetitive tasks.
- 21 percent of consumers use voice assistants like Siri, Alexa and Cortana.
- 59.3 percent of respondents are open to having AI handle personal tasks.
- Ethics and cybersecurity are the biggest concerns about AI.
